The Sulphur Reactor is a Bio-reactor filled with sulphur beads which promote the growth of the specialised bacteria that remove nitrate. As a by product of the biochemical reaction that takes place in the Sulphur Reactor, sulphuric acid is produced and in consequence the Sulphur Reactor must always be used in combination with a Hydrocarbonate Reactor in which the sulphuric acid is neutralised. Both reactors are supplied with a strong holding system.

Many species of zooplankton of both salt and fresh water species can be cultivated in the plankton reactor. The zooplankton is fed with microalgae from the plankton light reactor. The zooplankton has a great growth potential: under optimal algal nutrition, the number of rotifers (Brachionus) may double over four days. Brachionus is the ideal food for raising many marine fish larvae and invertebrates in salt water aquaria

The plankton light reactor is a simple system for the production of plankton in a natural food chain. In the plankton light reactor, microalgae are produced with light, fertiliser and CO2. The microalgae can be fed directly to many filter-feeding invertebrates, and especially to zooplankton. The growth rate of the microalgae in the plankton light reactor is enormous. If the supply of light, CO2 and nutrients is continuous, the bio-mass of the algae may increase four-fold within 24 hours. Fresh and salt water species of phytoplankton can be cultivated. life A comprises decapsulated artemia cysts, which can be hatched in the same way as encapsulated cysts. The hatched nauplii are shell-free,

and in consequence there are no waste shells to remove. This shell waste, if ingested, can cause serious problems for juvenile fish and they

may die due to constipation. Because life A is de-capsulated, it is an excellent food for raising seahorses.

This smaller low cost reactor is ideal for the smaller less demanding tank but can rise to occasion when needed.

The Calciumreactor 400 is a completely sealed system operating at a very low flow rate. Within the reactor calcium and calcium bicarbonate ions are release by the controlled dosing of CO2 gas. This provides the calcium hydrocarbonate that hard coral require to build their exoskeletons.
The filter can be installed in almost any position, inside or outside the aquarium or the cabinet. For the water flow, we recommend the Dosing pump SP 3000.
The reactor is filled with Hydrocarbonate – a pure form of calcium carbonate with an extremely low phosphate level.
For optimum control and the most economic use of the CO2 gas, we recommend the reactor be used in conjunction with an Aqua Medic pH controller. The reactor is already equipped to accept our pressurised electrode.

The Calciumreactor is a closed system designed for universal use. It can be operated on a bypass system, independent of the water level in the aquarium, or alternatively be installed in the filter sump. It includes a large volume (10 litres or c. 2.5 gallons) of Hydrocarbonate and an integrated circulation pump that features the patented Aqua Medic needle wheel. By adding CO2, the pH value in the Calciumreactor falls and the Hydrocarbonate is dissolved. Even with a low flow rate of 1 to 4 l/hr (c. 0,25 to 1 gph), a large amount of dissolved calcium enters into the aquarium, which is assimilated by the animals.
The Calciumreactor has an integral port to accommodate a PG 13.5 threaded electrode to measure the pH value. Now including Dosing Pump SP 3000 for controlled water flow.

Aqua Medic Scraper
This new product is well though out and combines a blade and squeegee in a neat easy to use handle. Ideal for cleaning algae from the glass, the blade makes it very easy to reduce the excessive build up of coralline algae that can plague more mature aquariums.

Aqua Medic Trapest
Even the most carefully screened aquarium will from time to time end up with a few hitchhikers that can become a pest. These may be large bristle worms, crabs or mantis shrimps. A number of methods over the years have been suggested over the years to remove these with varying degrees of success. The Trapest allows the baiting of a clear trap that encourages nuisance critters to enter. The unique curtain design allows the critters to walk through but not escape. Customer feedback has been reported good success with this system.

A new packing and formulation that offers the easy increase of aquarium KH, it is offered in a great value 1 KG TUB.

Antiphos FE is the new phosphate remover from aqua-medic and comes well recommended. The product is an iron oxide based product and offers good absorbancy and retention

Trace elements are essential for all animals. Minute quantities of almost all the elements known on earth are dissolved in seawater. In the

aquarium these elements, essential to the well being of the inhabitants, may become depleted. This loss of elements can be compensated for by

adding REEF LIFE TRACE at regular intervals. It provides elements such as boron, chromium, copper, fluorine, iron, manganese, molybdenum,

zinc and many more. It does not use gelling agents, which have been shown to harm coral growth.

250 ml (c. 8.4 oz) REEF LIFE TRACE can treat a 400 litre (100 gallon) aquarium for 1 to 3 months.

Iodine is an essential trace element for corals, higher algae and especially for crustacea. Iodine quickly oxidizes making it unstable. REEF

LIFE IODINE was therefore developed as a three component iodide additive, releasing its components sequentially to allow continuous

assimilation by animals and plants. Iodide ions and elementary iodine are available immediately and even after several days the third

component provides long term stable organic iodine.

Contains strontium ions in a form that are easily assimilated by all invertebrates. Strontium is essential for the production and maintenance

of the exoskeletons of hard corals and the shells of reef molluscs. Its use prevents retardation of the development of hard corals that can

be caused by strontium deficiency. In addition, the growth of calcareous red algae is enhanced.

Reef Life Calcium provides calcium and trace elements for the aquarium in a naturally balanced combination. The three-component set contains

a calcium supplement, buffer tablets and a trace element solution. Used together, the level of dissolved calcium can be controlled, the

carbonate hardness can be stabilized, and depleted trace elements supplemented. Using Reef Life Calcium there will be no alteration of the

pH, the ion equilibrium will be maintained, and healthy coral growth will result. Each pack will produce 50 g of pure Calcium and 2300 m.mol

alkalinity.

Reef Life Calcium consists of three components:
- 250 ml (c. 8oz) concentrated calcium solution
- 250 buffer tablets with bicarbonate
- 250 ml (c. 8oz) trace element solution, including the minerals required for maintaining the ion equilibrium.

DOSING PUMPS
The Aquamedic dosing pump SP 3000 is an economic peristaltic pump for pumping small volumes of water. It is used with all bypass filters like the Nitratreductor and the Calciumreactor, but also to top up evaporated water combined with an aquaniveau and the Kalkwasserreactor. Another application is the automatic dosing of fertilisers and minerals. In freshwater aquariums, the iron fertiliser ferreal can be added daily. In coral reef aquariums, the complete Calcium and trace element addition (products of the Reef Life series) can be automatised with the SP 3000.
