The pump, is extremely silent, it takes the water from the aquarium, into the external pump and then is pumped throught the biological filter The clean water then returns into the aquarium with a fall over a wier, oxygenating the water in the most optimal way possible. The inner cartridges are easy to replace. The mechanical and chemical filtering is done by the filter/carbon cartridge, while the biological filtering from the black sponge.
With a well thought out and unique design for the impellor, Niagara is able to re-start automatically after the power has been turned off for servicing.
