Piping Info
Plumbing a marine aquarium is best-achieved using solvent weld rigid piping. The main reason to use this over normal aquarium flexible tubing, is one of safety and performance. The pipe being solvent weld and pressure rated reduces the risk of leaking joints, push on connectors coming adrift and will make your aquarium a better engineered solution. Pumps connected to rigid pipe produce better flow due to no loss of pressure due to the expansion of flexible pipe or the colonisation of nuisance algae in plastic flexible pipe.
Solvent weld pipe is easy to work, but we recommend creating the plumbing connections in total before gluing it together and marking all joins for alignment. This will save errors that are hard to undo once the solvent weld glue has been applied, as bonding will happen in seconds.
All fittings supplied are high quality and designed for use with saltwater.
